Join Wisconsin’s Safety Movement
WSSCA is a non-profit and non-government organization that includes administrators, supervisors, teachers, building and grounds personnel, health and nursing personnel, safety coordinators, school districts as well as private/public businesses through district, corporate and student memberships.? The business of the association is conducted by an eleven member Board of Directors with guidance from several advisors.?

• Safety motivation and recognition programs: WSSCA's Annual School Safety Coordinator of the Year Award - Recipient's school district receives a Scholarship of $1,000 from Community Insurance Corporation.

• On-going development of a safety coordinator's handbook to insure that comprehensive safety and health standards are available.

WSSCA activities include:

• Fall workshops/seminars for exchange of information related to various safety and health concerns and issues.
• Appointment of safety and health specialists at the Department of Public Instruction.
• Development and publishing of a safety coordinator's job description for the Wisconsin Association of School Boards.
• Close association with the Department of Commerce, Division Safety & Buildings.
• Coordination of service projects with various organizations.
• On-going development of a safety coordinator's handbook to insure that comprehensive safety and health standards are available.
• Development of computerized safety materials including: a safety handbook, safety contacts/association members, safety-related school board policies, current events, Standard I materials, association history/constitution, etc.
• Website (www.wssca.org) updated with resources, links, events and more.


WSSCA promotes total school safety through:

• Improving existing programs and promoting new programs of safety and health education.
• Conducting and co-sponsoring seminars, an annual conference, and workshops.
• Acquiring, sharing and disseminating information concerning school safety, security and health.
• Representing the interests of our members in professional safety and health organizations.
• Serving as a liaison with school district administrators, governmental agencies, private agencies, businesses, and industries.

WSSCA is associated with the Department of Commerce and the Wisconsin Council of Safety.
